Neighborhood Watch

Neighborhood Watch Program

Neighborhood Watch is a crime prevention program that enlists the active participation of residents in cooperation with law enforcement to reduce crime, solve problems, and improve the quality of life in our communities.  A watchful neighborhood is key to preventing crime!

Who Should be Involved?

Any community resident and business owner can join – young or old, single or married, homeowner or renter.  Even the busiest of people can belong to a Neighborhood Watch program.  They can even be set-up in apartment buildings.

How Can I Start a Neighborhood Watch Program in my Neighborhood?

It's easy!  Talk to your neighbors about starting the program in your area.  If there is interest, your group will need a captain.  If you are interested in becoming a Neighborhood Watch captain, fill out our Neighborhood Watch Capitan Registration Form (PDF) or visit our Form Center to complete your registration.  You can also view our Neighborhood Watch Brochure (PDF) informational brochure.

What Happens Next?

After your Neighborhood Watch captain has registered with the Le Sueur Police Department, one of our officers will meet with your group to discuss the program in more detail and identify issues that need to be addressed such as:

  • What should I be aware of or looking for?
  • What does the Police Department need to know?
  • What is suspicious? What isn't?
  • Who do I report to? How often?

If you would like more information, please call the Le Sueur Police Department at 507-665-2041.

We look forward to partnering with our community to make Le Sueur an even better and safer place to live.
