[ARCHIVED] 3/16/20: COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update - City Offices Closed Beginning March 17, 2020

Update 3/16/20:

The health and welfare of our residents is a priority to the City of Le Sueur. To help limit potential community transmission of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), all city offices will be closed beginning Tuesday, March 17th until further notice. During this time, our staff is ready and available to assist the public with day-to-day needs. The purpose of these closures is to further implement social distancing measures and reduce exposure to our residents and staff.

Please be assured that we will maintain the level of service for all essential services. This includes Water, Wastewater, Electric, Public Works (Streets), Police, and Fire. These services will continue without interruption.

As a reminder, utility bills can be paid online, via phone, or dropped off at the lock box outside of City Hall. More information can be found on our utility billing homepage at: http://cityoflesueur.com/332/Utility-Billing. At this time, we will waive late fees on utility bills until further notice. We are still providing building inspections and issuing building permits. To obtain a permit or schedule an inspection, please call (507) 593-8317.

The City of Le Sueur is actively monitoring the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). The safety of our residents, recreation participants, and staff is of utmost importance.

In an abundance of caution and in effort to slow the spread of the virus, all recreation programs are canceled as of Midnight on Sunday, March 15th.  Furthermore, the Le Sueur Center Community Center will be closed until further notice as of Midnight on Sunday, March 15th.

The purpose of the cancellations is to implement social distancing measures and reduce exposure.

City Hall remains open at this time.  As a reminder, city bills can be dropped off in our lockbox outside of our front door or be paid online or via phone.  Please don’t hesitate to call our office at (507) 665-6401 with any questions.  Our staff is ready to assist.

City staff is meeting tomorrow to implement plans to help residents in need.  This includes, helping our elderly population or those who may need any items delivered to their home (prescriptions, etc).  Please watch our social media feed for updates.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and support as we try to protect the health of our residents, participants and staff, while monitoring the evolving situation.
