The Minnesota Department of Health awarded the City of Le Sueur a "Water Fluoridation Quality Award" from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This award was given to 112 out of 625 public water systems in Minnesota.
Fluoridation is the adjustment of fluoride in drinking water to a level that is effective for preventing tooth decay. According to the CDC, water fluoridation prevents about 25% of tooth decay in children and adults.
