City of Le Sueur Water DepartmentWhat We Do:
The Le Sueur Water Utility Department's mission is to provide clean, safe, water to all residents of the City of Le Sueur. Our process is to pump water from our wells, treat it to remove the iron and manganese, add chlorine and flouride, pump it for storage in the water towers, and make it available to residents via the City's water main system.
We continually test and monitor the water for quality. Prior to treatment (raw), iron is .73 mg/liter and manganese is .135 mg/liter. After water is treated (finished), iron is .06 mg/liter and manganese is .032 mg/liter. Click here for most recent Drinking Water Report (PDF 156kb)
In addition, we maintain the fire hydrant system throughout the City that enables firefighters to access water for their critical firefighting needs.
The City of Le Sueur Water Utility Department is a member of Minnesota Rural Water (www.mrwa.com).

In addition, we have a line locator and metal detectors for locating water line valves and curb stops.
Our staff includes the Director, Brian Skok, two licensed operators and one operator who will be licensed within the next year. We also have seasonal part-time employees.
Educational Services: We are always pleased to help Citizens learn more about water and Le Sueur's water treatment facility and processes. If your group would like to schedule a tour and informational lesson, call Brian Skok at (507) 665-3338 to set up an appointment.
