Interested in joining a Board or Commission?

Do you want to be involved in your local government? The City Council seeks volunteers to serve on various city boards and commissions. Applicants must have a desire to serve their community in a volunteer capacity.  If you're interested in participating, please complete our commission application.

  1. Airport Commission

    The Airport Commission provides oversight for the City Council and staff regarding municipal airport operations and projects and reviews all applications for airplane hangar development.

  2. Board of Zoning Appeals

    The Board of Zoning Appeals reviews all questions that arise from the administration of the Zoning Ordinance. They have the authority to issue variances based on the Zoning Ordinance and State Statutes. The term is three years.

  3. Charter Commission

    The Charter Commission is responsible for reviewing and revising the City’s Charter to ensure that it meets all applicable State and Federal laws and that it meets the needs of the citizens of Le Sueur.

  4. Economic Development Authority

    The Economic Development Authority (EDA) provides the City with the flexibility to pursue economic development projects including the ability to engage in housing and redevelopment projects.

  5. Planning Commission

    The Planning Commission makes recommendations to the City Council on issues related to land use and development in the City.
