Finance

The Finance Department is responsible for the management of all financial functions of the City including annual budget preparation, payroll, and audit preparation.

Audit

Each year an audit of the financial records of the City of Le Sueur is performed by an independent auditor as required by Minnesota Statutes.

Budget

The annual proposed budget is considered by the City Council from September through December.  As required by State law, the maximum proposed property tax levy is set by September 30.  The City Council holds a public comment hearing on the proposed budget in December and then adopts a final budget and final property tax levy following the public comment hearing.  The final property tax levy must be certified no later than December 30.

Credit Rating

The City of Le Sueur holds a A+ credit rating.
